About David Wettner
Discover the story, artistic heritage, and deep passion for landscape painting that shape my original works from the heart of Powys, Wales.
An artistic heritage rooted in nature
I am a self-taught artist hailing from a long line of professional artists. Art and the outdoors have been interwoven into my life since childhood. Based in the evocative landscapes of Powys, I am fortunate to combine my lifelong devotion to the natural world with a dedicated fine art practice.
Capturing light, seasons, and place
Working predominantly in oil paints en plein air, my focus rests on the ever-changing light and shifting moods across the Welsh scenery in all seasons. Through a vibrant colour palette and tactile brushwork, I strive to evoke a genuine sense of atmosphere, emotion, and presence in every canvas.
Alongside landscape painting, my creative practice extends to sculpture. I regularly exhibit across the UK, and my works are held in cherished private collections worldwide. Whether you are looking for an original piece or considering a bespoke project, I welcome discussions for custom commissions.
